Rorohara is a beautifully furnished luxury home nestled into
the hillside of a 700 acre sheep and cattle farm where once
Patena Puhata lived and Patara led his people in worship. The
house, designed by George Patterson and completed in 2001, is
made of stone and cedar and is only 100metres from the waters
edge.
The kitchen, dining and living spaces form the hub of the
home with a family wing to the East and a guest wing to the
West. The family wing includes a master bedroom with
king bed, ensuite and dressing room, 3 further bedrooms, a family bathroom and laundry facilities.

The guest wing includes two guest bedrooms with queen beds
and a shared bathroom, an apartment with queen bed, ensuite,
lounge, dining, kitchen and laundry. Nearly every room has
magnificent views of the cricket pitch, beach and coast.
When it’s time to come inside to relax there are many
places to choose from – the Pacific lounge – where
you can gaze out to sea, library, television room, billiard
room or relax in one of three bath tubs. In the cooler
months you will be kept cosy by the under floor heating or
any of the four open fire places. The wine cellar is well stocked
with New Zealand and Australian wines which are there to be
enjoyed by you and your guests.
